For the scratchbuilder . . .

These days with everything ready-to-run, we want to let the scratchbuilders know that you are not forgotten. I personally enjoy building things from scratch or "kitbashing" to make things look really real. So we are happy to announce a new set of baggage doors and roofs in N scale!  They will be available when our N scale 80-ft Baggage-Horse cars are released later this fall. Here are some details and photos.

  • Item No. 99250 -  Door Set A - (12) 6-ft wide doors and (4) 4'-10" wide modernized doors; wood doors, modernized, wood modified; 2 sprues, unpainted
  • Item No. 999251 - Door Set B - (10) 4'-10" small doors; wood doors, modernized, wood modified;  2 sprues, unpainted;
  • Item no. 999252 - 80-ft clerestory baggage roof with 24 roof vents and 1 stove chimney pipe, unassembled unpainted.

Model railroading is fun!

At Wheels of Time, we have the great pleasure of bringing concepts into realities. This can be summed up in the words: model-making. To keep my creative juices flowing, it's always fun to do my own project. Here is an example which of a SP City of S.F. Diner being re-worked to be better reflect the real thing:  new paint, scale width vestibule diaphragms, roof kitchen vents, all new details for the under frame including a 3/4-width water tank housing, propane tanks, battery boxes, A/C equipment, new bolsters to accept the proper GSC 41-N-11 passenger trucks. Hopefully you will get to do some model railroading and model-making yourself this weekend or next. Enjoy!
