New N scale announcement!

Wheels of Time is pleased to announce an all new N scale PS 1937 77-ft Chair Car for service for City of San Francisco, Golden State, Cascade and General Service. These highly detailed kits are designed with the modeler in mind. Made in U.S.A. Take pre-orders now for a early Nov. delivery date.

The highly detailed passenger car sides, roof and complete underframe/interior have tabs and slots, and pins and holes connections. This makes it easy to assemble and glue parts together using super glue. This Wheels of Time design completely eliminates the need to purchase a core kit. In addition, the kit includes a fully built miniature replica of the prototype underbody equipment, so you don’t need to guess where things might be located! The interior has the proper look for the reclining seats with arm rests instead of a chunk of plastic. The standard width diaphragms are patterned after Southern Pacific’s shops modification to the original full width diaphragms. We even included on the “B” end of the car, a Gyralight warning light which was S.P. practices for the end of the train operation. It’s like the real thing! The models are designed to be fitted with Kato truck-coupler assemblies. The result is that the modeler will receive a very highly accurate and detailed railroad specific passenger car with minimal work that you can be proud of! Go here for more details.

More inspiring models!

Alan Dickson built and weathered realistic lumber loads on our Cotton Belt flatcar. Both models are from Wheels of Time. Alan's kit building and weathering results really shines. It looks like real wood. Don't you agree? Thanks Alan for sharing. If you have a photo of your handiwork on a Wheels of Time model that you've built, kit-bashed, or weathered, do send it to us!

Inspiring!

Every so often one of our customers sends us photos of their latest project. Personally, it’s inspiring to see such craftsmanship. Using photographs of the prototype cars, Dallan Schowe modified Wheels of Time baggage cars to make some very specific models for his N-scale 1952 Great Northern Fast Mail train. The first photo shows his technique in slicing the car and then reassembling the body shell for his GN storage mail car. His B&O and IC baggage-express cars followed the same technique. Thanks Dallan for shaing your work with us, so we can all be inspired!
