We are thrilled to add a new line of products, Custom Editions, to Wheels of Time.
Many model railroaders have expressed an interest in special locomotives, railroad cars, and vehicles that are so unique that they are not normally produced. Custom Editions was created in response to this demand and offers high quality limited run models that are impossible to manufacture on a regular production process due to a high initial cost. These models and kits will have the same level of attention to details as our regular production models.
The prices can be higher due to a higher unit price cost. (Custom Editions by Wheels of Time are not available through our distributors.)
Medium/Heavy-Duty Work Trucks in N-scale!
Wheels of Time is delighted to present the first in a series of everyday work trucks used by railroad maintenance-of-way departments and construction companies. With attention to details, we designed these miniature workhorses with the characteristically sculptured hood and cab. These Series 50 / 60 /80 trucks were built in 1964-1966 for medium to heavy-duty applications. They were powered by a 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder gasoline or diesel engine paired with a 4 or 5 speed transmission and 2-speed rear axle high torque performance. Railroads and contractors like them because they were economical to acquire and operate, and were reliable.
About Wheels of Time models .. .
Our Railroad Maintenance-of-Way Truck has been revised. Wheels with tires are now a separate part. This will require a metal rod axle. (1 mm dia or .039"; front axle length 6.8 mm or .270"; rear axle length 7.8 mm or .310" Currently, the design on the other N scale trucks will continue to have the wheels and tires printed together with the body to easy assembly. It's designed so the wheels (axles) will spin freely. Btw - the wheels and tires can be replaced with Trainworx ones.
