Along the Atlantic Coast Line…

Here are some beautifully weathered Atlantic Coast Line baggage-express cars from Wheels of Time -  like it's been in the South Carolina sun. This is Gordon Dunham's handiwork! Isn't this awesome or what?!

All of the ACL head-end cars I received from Wheels of Time came in a purple/silver/yellow scheme that appeared to be much too pale. Gordon has nicely worked around that by treating the scheme as if it has been sun-bleached and weathered. New equipment featured a much richer ACL Royal Purple.

What Gordon did to these cars, in addition to weathering them as if sun-bleached, was extraordinary for N scale: he masked each letter individually as well as the striping and oversprayed a transparent magenta to give the car a less lavender-y and more purple cast, creating something closer to, if not a precisely accurate, Royal Purple. I was very pleased to have been the recipient of his work!
